Dr. Alan P. Salomon, aka "Dr. Sonny," is part of a 44-year Memphis tradition of dental comfort and care. 3rd of a 5-generation Memphis-born family, he attended Central High, Tulane University, received his B.S. from the Memphis State University and his dental degree from the University of Tennesse College of Dentistry. He has dedicated his professional career to provide you with the best that modern, high tech, dentistry has to offer. Dr. Salomon recently was honored as a "TOP DOC" in the December, 2008, issue of Memphis Magazine.
For over 40 years, Dr. Salomon has attended a minimum of 75 hours of continuing education courses biannually. He is a life member of the Memphis Dental Society, Tennessee Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has won the TDA's ACE (Accredited Continuing Education) Award every year since it was begun; and, in July, 2003, received his Fellowship degree from the Academy of General Dentistry... a lifetime of learning the dental profession.
Wife, Myrna, recently retired from teaching 5th grade in the SCS, and continues to tutor. They have 4 sons and 8 grandchildren and 1 more on the way. Oldest son, still living in Memphis, Jason Salomon, is a board certified specialist estate attorney with Harkevy, Shainberg, Kaplan & Dunst. Youngest, Dr. Scott Weiskopf graduated UT Dental College,2009, and completed his residency in Oral Surgery at U. of Illinois, Chicago, 2013. He is now a partner at Sexton & Weiskopf Oral Surgery about a mile east of our office. Dr. Salomon's avocations are whitewater kayaking, Boy Scouts, and road biking. He kayaks wherever there is whitewater, and has clocked over 4600 miles cycling in 2015. He won 4 medals at 2014 Tennessee and Arkansas Senior Olympics, his goal for 2016 is to repeat winning the Year Rounder medal (2012 & 2014) from the Ultra Marathon Cycling Assoication.
