Biography

Dr. Lyndsey Hazen’s love of dentistry and helping others that is evident when you meet her. She treats her patients as if they are part of her family, giving them the utmost respect and care. She strives to stay with the latest technology and enjoys attending continuing education courses. This helps her in treating  her patients with the best and most up-to date options available.

Dr. Hazen grew up in Rochester, Indiana along with her older sister and two younger brothers. Her choice to become a dentist was natural, as she is one of several practicing dentists in her family. Her father, Dr. Ray Hazen, is a successful prosthodontist in Rochester, as well as, an instructor for a prestigious national dental implant program. Dr. Hazens’ sister, Dr. Ryanne Hazen Gilliland, has also earned a dental degree from Indiana University and practices in Florida. Her youngest brother, Elliot Hazen, is a dental lab technician and owns a dental laboratory in Rochester.

Dr. Hazen also excelled academically, graduating with honors as Valedictorian of her high school in 2000. During her senior year of high school, she had the opportunity to go through a Spanish immersion program where she lived with a Mexican family in Puebla, Mexico for six months, learning the Spanish language and culture. Following graduation from high school, Dr. Hazen attended Indiana University and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology in 2003. In addition, she earned minors in Psychology and Spanish. Dr. Hazen then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2008.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Hazen practiced as an associate in a busy dental practice in northern Indiana. She then moved to Tennessee, following her dream of helping others through dentistry treating young children through the health department and also elderly patients in nursing homes. She continues serving others and has a heart for those who do not have access to dental care readily available. She has joined other healthcare professionals on mission trips to Haiti and in local Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics.

In Dr. Hazen’s free time she enjoys cooking, hiking in the mountains, traveling, remodeling, reading, spending time on the lake, and  hanging out with her family, friends and dogs.
